RHE & Associates signed contracts yesterday with the National Screening Unit (NSU) giving the formal go ahead to RHE’s delivery of the new National Cervical Screening Programme Register (NCSPR) information system.
The RHE led consortium, which also includes MedTech Global and Sequel Software, is responsible for the delivery of the new NCSPR which will provide substantial benefits to the NSU and their stakeholders within the NZ health sector. The NSU expects the new system to substantially strengthen their quality assurance and audit capability as well as reducing manual processes and providing secure data exchange with Laboratories, Colposcopists and Health Providers in general. The resultant improvements to data quality and accuracy will improve information management overall, thereby reducing the risk of errors which, in the case of the prevention of cervical cancer, is both crucial and paramount.
The system is being designed on the principles of a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) and utilises the Oracle BPEL Process Manager as well as database, data warehouse and reporting suite. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be delivered during July 2007.
